Card Tier List โ€” Best Cards to Level First

Not all bonus types are equal. Here's the priority order for spending your spare copies, backed by the underlying maths.

How we rank cards

Cards are grouped by bonus type rather than individually, since two cards of the same type and rarity behave identically in the underlying formulas. Ranking is based on how each bonus type interacts with prestige scaling and long-term economy growth โ€” see the Game Mechanics guide for the full formulas.

S-Tier: cost-reduction & all-income cards

Cost-reduction cards compound with every business purchase you'll ever make, and all-income (global) cards boost click power and passive income simultaneously while scaling with your prestige multiplier. Both types belong at the top of your combine priority list.

Example cards
๐Ÿ“’ Budget Notebook โ€” Trims business costs a touch.
๐Ÿ“Ž Paper Clip โ€” Bend it, twist it, save a few coins.
๐Ÿงฎ Calculator โ€” Crunch the numbers, save the cash.
๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Shoelaces โ€” Tight lacing, tighter budget.
๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Treasure Map โ€” Chart the course to cheaper businesses.
๐Ÿ‘‘ Golden Crown โ€” Boosts all income.
๐ŸŽ  Royal Carriage โ€” Roll in style, earn in bulk.
โฐ Time Machine โ€” Rewind bad investments.
๐ŸŒŒ Aurora Borealis โ€” The sky rains down fortune.
๐Ÿ›๏ธ Empire Charter โ€” Massive global boost.

A-Tier: high-rarity passive cards

Passive-only cards are extremely strong but slightly less flexible than global cards since they don't touch click power. Prioritise higher-rarity passive cards once your S-tier options are levelled.

Example cards
โ˜• Morning Coffee โ€” Small passive boost to get going.
๐Ÿท Piggy Bank โ€” Break it open, watch pennies roll out.
๐ŸŒฑ Green Thumb โ€” Everything you plant blooms faster.
โ˜‚๏ธ Umbrella โ€” Stay dry, stay earning.
๐Ÿšฟ Garden Hose โ€” Let the profits flow freely.

B-Tier: click-only cards

Click-only cards remain useful โ€” especially during a Click Frenzy floating upgrade โ€” but contribute a shrinking share of total income as your passive economy scales up in the mid-to-late game.

Example cards
๐Ÿช™ Lucky Penny โ€” A little extra on every click.
๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ Pocket Watch โ€” Every second counts when you're earning.
โ›ฒ Wishing Well โ€” Toss in a coin, hope for two back.
๐Ÿ‹ Lemon Squeezer โ€” Squeeze the profit from every lemon.
๐Ÿ”ฆ Flashlight โ€” Shines a light on loose change.
Practical rule: when in doubt about which spare copies to spend first, prioritise cost-reduction, then all-income, then passive, then click โ€” in that order.

Frequently asked questions

Is a Common card ever better than a Legendary?

+

Per-level, no โ€” Legendaries have a much stronger bonus. But a fully maxed Common (which is easy to reach thanks to a high level cap and easy availability) can outperform a barely-levelled Legendary you've only pulled once or twice.

Should I level for coverage or raw power?

+

Early on, favour coverage โ€” level a wide spread of cheap commons and uncommons. In the late game, concentrate spare copies on your highest-impact all-income and cost-reduction cards instead.

How does this interact with the Combine All button?

+

Combine All applies to your entire collection indiscriminately, which is efficient but doesn't respect priority order. For a targeted approach, manually combine your S-tier cards first, then use Combine All to sweep up everything else.

Does this tier list change after prestige?

+

The relative ranking stays the same, but because your prestige multiplier makes global bonus cards more impactful the further you progress, all-income cards become even more valuable relative to click-only cards as your prestige count grows.

Are hidden or secret cards exempt from this ranking?

+

Tycoon Cards doesn't currently have hidden cards distinct from the standard rarity system โ€” every card in the 1,000-card archive follows the same bonus-type ranking logic described here.
