Editorial Policy
This document explains how we produce, review and maintain the content on this website โ the guides, strategy articles, patch notes and reference material for Tycoon Cards.
Who Writes Our Content
All content on this site is written by the Tycoon Cards development team. We do not outsource guides to freelance writers or content farms. The people writing the articles are the same people who wrote the game code, which means our guides are authoritative by default.
Fact Checking
Every numerical claim in our articles โ drop rates, multipliers, costs, expected values โ is verified against the actual game source code before publication. We do not rely on memory, player rumours or third-party wikis.
Where we discuss general gaming concepts (for example, what a prestige system is), we draw on well-established definitions from the incremental-game community rather than inventing terminology.
Update Process
Tycoon Cards is actively developed. When we release an update that changes game mechanics, we:
- Identify every article affected by the change (using our internal content audit checklist).
- Update the article to reflect the new behaviour, including any changed numbers, screenshots or strategy recommendations.
- Update the "last reviewed" date shown at the top of the article.
- Publish the change in the changelog.
Corrections Policy
If you spot an error in any article โ a wrong number, outdated strategy, typo, broken link โ please let us know via the contact form. We aim to review and correct reported issues within two business days.
Substantive corrections (anything that changes the meaning or recommendation of an article) are noted at the bottom of the affected page with a date and brief description of what changed.
AI Usage Disclosure
We may use large language models as drafting and editing tools โ for example, to check grammar, suggest alternative phrasings or help organise thoughts. However, every published article is:
- Reviewed line-by-line by a human editor before publication.
- Fact-checked against the game code by someone with direct access to it.
- Written in a consistent editorial voice โ no generic, repetitive or hollow filler text.
We do not publish unedited AI output. If you believe a page does not meet our editorial standards, please let us know.
Content Review Standards
Before publication, every article must satisfy the following:
- โ Unique angle. The article must answer a specific user question that is not already covered elsewhere on the site.
- โ Practical value. Readers should leave with something useful โ a strategy, a number, an explanation โ not just a summary of information they could have Googled themselves.
- โ Correct mechanics. Any game mechanics referenced must match the current live version of Tycoon Cards.
- โ Clear structure. Headings, lists and tables are used to make content scannable.
- โ Natural internal links. Articles link to related guides where genuinely helpful.
What We Do Not Publish
- Keyword-stuffed content written purely for SEO.
- Paid or sponsored articles, advertorials or native advertising.
- Exploits, cheats or ways to break the game's intended balance.
- Speculation about unreleased features presented as confirmed fact.
- Content copied from other sites.
