Card Rarity Tiers Explained

From humble Commons to shimmering Divines โ€” here's exactly how the seven rarity tiers work and why every single one matters.

Common Cards

The foundation of every collection. Commons are the most frequent pull from Starter Packs, with a high max level that rewards patient duplicate-farming.

Example: ๐Ÿช™ Lucky Penny โ€” A little extra on every click.

Uncommon Cards

A step up in power with a moderately high max level. Uncommons bridge the gap between early Starter Pack farming and the rarer tiers found in Premium Packs.

Example: ๐Ÿ‘› Fat Wallet โ€” Beefier clicks.

Rare Cards

Meaningfully stronger bonuses per level. Rares appear in both Starter and Premium Packs, making them a realistic mid-game target.

Example: ๐Ÿ’ Diamond Ring โ€” Sparkling click power.

Epic Cards

The first tier where global (all-income) bonuses become common. Epics are best hunted through Premium Packs.

Example: ๐Ÿ‘‘ Golden Crown โ€” Boosts all income.

Legendary Cards

A serious power spike โ€” Legendary cards are a primary reason to save up for Elite Vaults once you're in the late game.

Example: โœจ Midas Touch โ€” Every click turns to gold.

Mythic Cards

Extremely rare and extremely strong. Mythic cards are almost exclusively found in Elite Vaults.

Example: ๐Ÿ”ฅ Phoenix Feather โ€” Reborn wealth, all income soars.

Divine Cards

The rarest tier in the game. Divine cards have the highest bonus per level and the lowest max level, reserved for the luckiest โ€” or most persistent โ€” Elite Vault openers.

Example: ๐ŸŒ  Cosmic Vault โ€” Reality bends to your fortune.

How rarity affects bonus scaling

Every card's total bonus is bonusPerLevel ร— currentLevel. Because higher rarities have a larger bonusPerLevel, a single level of a Divine card can outweigh many levels of a Common card โ€” but Commons compensate with far higher max levels and much easier availability.

How rarity affects max level

Lower rarities generally allow more levels (Common tops out around 15; Divine around 3). This is intentional balance: rarity determines how strong a card can eventually become, not how useful it is in the meantime.

Visual identification guide

Each rarity uses a distinct colour treatment across borders, glow effects, and background gradients โ€” from muted grey Commons through green, blue, purple, gold, and red, up to the shimmering cyan-white animation reserved for Divine cards. You'll notice the Collection Archive automatically groups cards by rarity using this same colour system.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an eighth rarity above Divine?

+

Not currently. Divine is the highest confirmed rarity in Tycoon Cards. Any future rarity additions would be announced on the Updates page.

Why do rarer cards have a lower max level than common cards?

+

Rarer cards already start with a much stronger bonus per level, so a lower max level keeps their total potential bonus balanced against common cards, which need many more levels to reach a comparable impact.

Can common cards still be useful in the late game?

+

Yes. Every card in Tycoon Cards remains useful forever โ€” a maxed-out common card with a cost-reduction bonus can still meaningfully cut business costs even at high prestige counts.

How can I tell a card's rarity at a glance?

+

Each rarity has a distinct border colour and background gradient, from grey (Common) through green, blue, purple, gold, red, and finally a shimmering cyan-white gradient for Divine cards.

What is the rarest card in the game?

+

Divine cards as a category are the rarest, with roughly a 0.05โ€“0.6% pull chance depending on the pack type. Within Divine, all cards are equally rare from a drop-rate perspective.

Is there a pity system that guarantees a rare pull eventually?

+

No pity timer currently exists. Every pack roll is independent, so it's mathematically possible (if unlikely) to go a long stretch without pulling a high-rarity card.
