Your First Prestige — Everything You Need to Know

Reaching your first prestige in Tycoon Cards is a milestone. It is the moment when the game shifts from linear grinding to compounding progression. This article walks you through exactly what happens when you press the prestige button and how to make your second run feel dramatically faster than the first.

What prestige actually does

Prestige resets your money, businesses and click level. It does not reset your card collection — every card you have collected persists through every reset. In exchange, you gain prestige points based on the square root of your lifetime earnings, and each point adds a permanent +2% to all income.

That may sound modest, but it compounds. Five prestige points give you +10% income, which means your second run will take roughly 10% less time to reach the same milestones. At ten points that advantage doubles again. By the time you reach 25 points (+50%) the early game that took an hour on your first attempt breezes past in twenty minutes.

The formula for points earned on reset is:

newPoints = floor( sqrt( lifetimeEarnings / 1,000,000 ) ) – currentPoints

Each point is permanent and never decreases. You only gain more with each prestige run.

When to press the button

We recommend two rules for first-time prestigers:

• Wait for at least 3 points. Prestiging for a single point gives a 2% boost — meaningful, but not enough to justify the reset cost of rebuilding your entire business empire.
• Watch your doubling time. When it takes more than about ten minutes to double your current per-second income, you are past the efficient portion of a run. Prestige.

What you keep and what you lose

The businesses resetting is the biggest psychological hurdle for new players. But think of it this way: a player with 10 prestige points and a strong card collection rebuilds from zero to a million dollars in under two minutes. The reset is not a punishment — it is the start of a faster cycle.

What to do on run two

Your second run will feel noticeably faster thanks to both your prestige bonuses and the card bonuses you unlocked on run one. Here is our recommended checklist for the first few minutes of run two:

1. Click swiftly to $15 — your higher click power (from card bonuses) means this takes seconds.
2. Buy a Lemonade Stand immediately — it costs the same $15, but your passive income hits faster.
3. Open Starter Packs earlier — with a stronger card base, you can afford packs sooner and start levelling duplicates almost immediately.
4. Push to Paper Routes fast — then Car Washes. The first three tiers will fly past thanks to the +6% income boost from those 3 prestige points.

The single biggest tip: lean into pack farming earlier this time. A strong card collection is the long-term compounding engine of Tycoon Cards, and every run accelerates your ability to chase the next big pull.

Planning beyond the first prestige
